With Carroll's latest injury, now means he has missed 419 days through injury!
With Carroll's latest injury, it now means the player has missed 419 days since joining!! Add on this new set back (another 42 days give or take) making 461 days in total out! Missing 58 games for us in 3 seasons. At £80k per week, that adds up to £5.2m in wages spent whilst he was in the medical room....staggering figures!

What a waste of cash!

Not only did we pay silly money for Carroll both transfer fee and wages, every six month we have to pay a loanee silly money to accommodate the Messiah's latest injury. He's an ok player but has been a disastrous signing. Well done BFS. Oh a pat on the back for your little mong Jarvis as well. Know's how to pick a bargain does Big no nonsense Sam.

He's been massively unlucky.

I blame BFS for this injury, there was no need to risk him, especially playing on the right fucking wing FFS.

Carroll in money for old rope injury shocker. It was a dead cert to happen the moment we signed him. Doesn't even qualify as news in my book. Shamefully ignorant decision to sign him in the first place. I do hope it's true that fatso insisted as it will be the last nail in his coffin

Ok then - or you could argue that £100k a week was madness for a player of his calibre and injury record so signing him up on a long term deal protects everyone's interests except the clubs.

Or we could all still believe this was a great deal for the club

Re: With Carroll's latest injury, now means he has missed 419 days through injury!
You could argue that the club pushed for a 6 yr deal and Curtis, as an agent wanted a shorter deal. Shorter deals lead to new deals being signed more often and more money for the agent.

In fact, that's more likely to have happened.

Because he is his agent and that is what agents do to get paid

How do you know that?

And to think we could have taken him on loan again as there were no other interested parties but Curtis pressured for the permanent move and 6 year deal.

No conflicts though

I have a feeling that Sullivan and Gold will bear this unfortunate turn of events in mind when the big decision is taken in May.*

* Yes Eggbert, I know you think the walrus is a shoo-in for a new contract, but I'm not convinced.

Yes it has been a shit deal buying Carroll he is a good player no doubt about that , but only Sam Allardyce would pay 17 million for someone who does not score a solid 20 goals a season.
